mixed results, not durable

This collar worked well for our incessantly barking dog, though she quickly figured out that barking was a-ok when the collar was not on. So it had to be on whenever she went outside where there are squirrels, leaves and air to bark at. I accidentally shocked myself with it once when I was holding it and the dog barked (smart dog!) and its not painful, but it is unpleasant. However this expensive item is not at all durable. We've gone through two and finally used common sense and serched the internet for quality, durable bark collars, which this is not.
It works!

We tried everything from a muzzle to a spray collar. The barking problem still existed and my neighbors were getting frustrated. Once I bought this collar the barking stopped. I was worried that the shock would hurt my smaller 20lb. dog, but it doesn't. I would highly recommend this product.

I would recommend for anyone with a dog that barks at everything that moves. My dalmatian only barks at night. If he hears or sees something but cannot see to understand, he barks. When we used the first time, I was nervous. I didn't know what to expect. But, on the first use he knew after the first couple of barks. Ouch!!!

But the collar works like a charm and the needless barking has stopped. I only use when its late at night in order to keep the neighbors from calling the police because of excess barking at 11pm and later. Awesome, and humane.
This really works, unfortunately dogs are smart! (at least some)

This dog collar works really great to prevent my min pin from barking whenever guest are coming into our home. She used to bark a lot in the beginning and my other min pin sometimes goes outside and barks at the other dogs.
We got this collar and it works as described, only problem is, my dogs are not really permanently reducing their barking. When they wear it, they don't bark because they know they will get shocked, but as soon as you take it off they know that they can bark. I am sure though, that over time this will reduce their barking habits, especially if we give them the collar when guests come over.

Anyway one problem is that the dog can get a scare attack and bark even more when it gets shocked which sets it off again and again and it gets worse. So my dog has done this twice now and peed all over because it got really scared. The manual says that it automatically shuts off after 50 seconds for 3 minutes, so that's good, but I still took the collar off when this happened. Good thing is that she learned from that mistake and now doesn't bark at all when she wears it.

This is our second bark collar for our dog. She is a beagle, the neighbors complained so we complied. However, do not EVER let them wear it when it rains. They get shocked. I was shocked when I was replacing batteries on the counter when it was wet. Ouch!

I have purchased one of these in the past, it broke after six months and I called the warranty... they shipped out a new one in the package with no questions. I purchased this one off Amazon and in two months it was broken. I called warranty, I had to mail in my dog collar and then they sent a 'new' one. I really think it is the same. The first three serial numbers are the same and I didn't think to write them down to be certain, because I thought I would get a new one that worked.

Be wary of this product. Yes it works, but the warranty isn't that great. But if you need it like I do, then this is the best solution out there.
